It takes a lot of guts to do what you do! Be proud of yourself, I know what it is like to move and start over….it’s hard to leave familiar. When I was 19 I moved to New York to be a nanny because I felt Wisconsin had nothing for me. The difference is I moved out there with a college friend who ended up hating it because she wasn’t the center of attention, which she was use to. I on the other hand loved it because it was a new beginning for me. I lived in the New York-Connecticut area for most of my life, but I wasn’t going anywhere. I wanted to be a teacher but kept getting doors slammed in my face. I kept getting more and more depressed every month when I paid my student loan bill. I worked two jobs just to pay bills in a state I started to hate. So Al and I decided we needed a change. I ended up taking him out of his comfort zone because he lived in Connecticut his whole life and didn’t know anything else. Now we live in South Carolina we have our house with our 4 dogs and 5 horses, and he wants to get a goat. This from the city boy who use to throw the horses food at them because he was scared. I have my teaching job which I love and he has his plumbing job which he likes. I miss my friends from the east, but I love my new life in South Carolina. I tell Al all the time when things don’t go our way… if it was meant to be it will be! Hold your head up and keep doing what you are doing. I love reading your blog and you have a lot of talent. Keep reaching for the stars, you are a brace young lady and you are going to do big things. Hold your head up and enjoy the great places you are going!

Rejection is part of the writer’s professional life, whether it’s from a publisher, a sub-par review, or lack of book sales. But that doesn’t mean that rejection has to destroy you or make you doubt your talents. Think of it as a lottery. You have to be in it to win it, and if you don’t buy a ticket you will never win. You have incredible talent and you love what you do. That’s what gives you an edge over the mediocre. I have no doubt that the right people will appreciate what you have to offer. Keep doing what you love… the rest of the world will notice!
